Salvation
How do you know for sure that you are not going to hell?
Do you confess that Jesus is Lord? Do you want to follow him, doing many wonderful works in his name?
If yes, you are most likely on your merry way to hell, as one of the many, against whom the Lord Jesus Christ will profess, I never knew you, depart from me, ye that work iniquity. For as it is written, "Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not (...) in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity."
And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.
Therefore, don't guess:
Prove all things: from God's word. Salvation. How?We currently live in the dispensation of the grace of God, as given to the apostle Paul:
If ye have heard of the dispensation of the grace of God which is given me [Paul] to you-ward: Salvation in the dispensation of the grace of God:
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. "BY GRACE are ye saved THROUGH FAITH; and that not of yourselves: IT IS THE GIFT OF GOD: NOT OF WORKS, lest any man should boast." (The word of God, Ephesians 2:8-9)
"by grace""by grace"
And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. "through faith""through faith"
But to him that WORKETH NOT, but BELIEVETH on him that justifieth the ungodly, his FAITH is counted for righteousness. "it is the gift of God""it is the gift of God"
You cannot EARN a GIFT. Your works will EARN you a REWARD: Now to him that worketh is the reward not reckoned of grace, but of DEBT. "Not of works""not of works"
Works are any deed other than believing. Examples of work:
The deeds of the law - works - and grace are mutually exclusive. For if it be of works, then is it no more grace. FAITH: the SUBSTANCE of things hoped forYou know you are saved by grace through faith alone? If yes, good. But faith in what?
