Contradiction of peaceWithout righteousness there is no peace. Because:
But as it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one.
But every way of a man is right in his own eyes. Hence, there is no peace. Contradiction of life |
Summary: Man needs freedom to act. Freedom requires the adherence to absolute boundaries. This adherence requires self constraint, which requires mutual trust. But this mutual trust can be broken: unilaterally.
And man has no rational justification for self constraint, unless the cost outweighs the benefits. Moreover, man competes for power and control. This results in a downward spiral towards destruction. This is the human contradiction of life. And you are part of it. The prisoner's dilemma
BoundariesFreedom requires the adherence to absolute boundaries, like the respect of your life by others. But mankind itself cannot provide a source for the absolute boundaries needed for freedom, which is needed to live.
On the individual level, a man can only establish his own rules. But his rules are not absolute. His rules will be:
At the collective level, national and international, the same principles apply. (Like a brick wall consists of the individual bricks in it: it is only a matter of scale.) It follows that mankind is unable to secure freedom, action or life. TrustYour trust can be broken. In light of the fragility and finiteness of a man, he cannot afford his trust to be broken by any other man. Because this would limit his freedom, action and life, which could result in his death or lead him closer to it. Therefore, he cannot rely on the self constraint of other persons. This means that:
Self constraintThere is no rational justification for a man to exercise self constraint, unless it would cost him.
In principle, violating another man’s entitlements can be very beneficial to the man that is both willing and able to:
The limited time that a man has provides a compelling argument to live at the expense of others, rather than allowing others to live at his expense. Power and controlThe increase of one man's power to act correspondingly decreases the power of other men to act.
This power shift is in constant flux. This means that the fittest can survive and thrive at the expense of others until they are removed by those that will be the fittest until they are removed. Etcetera. It follows that the fittest will not survive. Neither will the unfit. This competition for power and control is inherently destructive. This means a downward spiral. Not towards life, but towards death. This is the human contradiction of life. And you are part of it. No one is just willinglyA contradiction to consider:
On one hand, the principle: 'the work of righteousness shall be peace; and 'Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people.' On the other hand, the practice:
'(..) no one is just willingly. Through cowardice or old age or some other weakness, people do indeed object to injustice. But it's obvious that they do so only because they lack the power to do injustice, for the first of them to acquire it is the first to do as much injustice as he can.' (Plato, The Republic, book II, 364d-366d) Do you hold the truth in unrighteousness?Men hold the truth in unrighteousness; Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them. For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:
"they are without excuse" Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools. "they became fools" And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient; Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers, Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful: "Without understanding" Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them. Therefore, please note:
the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness. Learn more. The world viewed from the beginningIn the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good.
ComplicationBehold, the man is become as one of us (God, possessor of heaven and earth), to know good and evil:
'Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of your Law'. And every way of a man is right in his own eyes: but the LORD pondereth the hearts. And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. The earth also was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence. The present and the newsThe thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun: It's a present evil world. And the whole world lieth in wickedness.
And the earth and the works that are therein shall be burned up. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.
This means you.
And thinkest thou this, O man, that thou shalt escape the judgment of God? Think again. It's your soul. |
